About Me
Thanks for stopping by! I'm Lara — mother to two little humans, two sausage dogs, two (mad) springer spaniels, and a flock of chickens.

My home and studio sit nestled among golden coconut trees, beside the Indian Ocean in Kenya. Living in such a beautiful place, it’s impossible not to be a painter. Capturing the shifting light, energy, and movement of this incredible landscape brings me endless joy — and I love sharing that joy through my work.

My colour palette reflects the way I see the world: vibrant, emotional, and deeply connected to nature. I often work with found and natural materials — from old dhow sails to pigments made from sand, soil, and bush — as part of my passion for bringing people closer to the earth and its raw beauty.

Alongside my art, I’ve always had a deep interest in the mind and mental health. Since becoming a mother, that interest has evolved into something more purposeful: I’m currently training to become a counsellor, with a focus on therapeutic art and helping others reconnect with their creativity as a path to healing.
I offer one-on-one sessions tailored to the unique needs of each client, providing a safe and nurturing space to explore thoughts, emotions, and self-expression. I also run group art as therapy classes that invite people of all ages to come together, create freely, and experience the healing power of shared creativity and connection.
My approach combines counselling, art, and the natural world — helping individuals find clarity, peace, and purpose through creative exploration.

When we’re not at home, my family and I escape into the wilderness whenever we can. Married to a herpetologist and safari guide, the bush is a second home — and a constant source of inspiration. Through my art, I hope to encourage others to explore wild spaces and help the next generation understand how precious our planet is — and why it’s worth protecting.

Outside the studio, I also organise nature-based adventures for families and children, and I’m developing therapeutic programs that use art and the natural world to support those feeling a little lost or overwhelmed.
